About Bensulfuron-methyl 96% TC
Bensulfuron-methyl is the methyl ester of bensulfuron. An acetolactate synthase inhibitor, it is used as a herbicide for the control of a variety of both annual and perennial weeds in crops, particularly wheat and rice. It is not licensed for use within the UK. It has a role as a herbicide, an agrochemical and an EC 2.2.1.6 (acetolactate synthase) inhibitor. It is a N-sulfonylurea, a member of pyrimidines, a methyl ester and an aromatic ether. It derives from a bensulfuron.

Solubility
In water 2.1 (pH 5), 67 (pH 7), 3100 (pH 9) (all in mg/l , 25°C). In acetone 5.10, acetonitrile 3.75, dichloromethane 18.4, ethyl acetate 1.75, n-heptane 3.62 10-4, xylene 0.229 (all in g/l , 20 °C).

Application
Selective pre- and post-emergence control of annual and perennial weeds and sedges (e.g. Butomus umbellatus, Scirpus maritimus, Scirpus mucronatus, Alisma plantago-aquatica, Sparganium erectum, Cyperus spp., Typha spp., etc.) in continuously flooded rice, at 30-100 g/ha.
